Friend,

Last month, we launched our new ad tracking website GOP Ad Tracker [[link removed]] with a simple goal: to expose racist ads from elected officials and campaigns so that voters can make informed decisions and hold politicians accountable for their racist rhetoric.

Since then, we have continued to regularly update the database with new racist ads that we have found. Republicans at all levels continue to make attacks on immigrants a key message in their campaigns.

The "divide and distract" tactics we are seeing in these ads strive to activate racial anxieties in order to build power and profit for a small elite and block solutions that would benefit us all.

We cannot allow these ads to go unchecked.

Join us today for a Facebook Live to learn more about our database, these ads, and what you can do to help.

Our Digital Communications Manager, Zac Mueller, and Chief Political and Communications Officer at The Immigration Hub, [[link removed]] Beatriz Lopez will be talking about the racist ads politicians are running to get elected, how you can track them, and how to respond to them.

It starts at 2:30 PM Eastern time on our Facebook page.

The consequences of these ads go beyond elections and deciding whether or not a candidate wins their congressional race. Many of the messages in the ads were motivating factors behind the deadly January 6 capitol insurrection. Racist dog-whistle ads around the COVID-19 pandemic also likely have contributed to a rise in hate crimes towards Asian-Americans. And many of these racist narratives have been echoed as twisted justifications for mass murderers to carry out radicalized political violence.

Tracking these ads is critical for stopping the spread of this dangerous rhetoric and holding those who use these harmful tactics accountable.

Left unaddressed, the racist and xenophobic tropes in these ads can be potent electoral weapons, but if they're exposed and unifying solutions are put on the table, these racist tactics can be turned into a liability. This is how we enact real change and work towards a future of freedom and opportunity for all immigrants in America.

Thank you for supporting this work,
Juana
