Folks, did you see what happened at last week's Donald Trump rally for Glenn Youngkin?

The event was kicked off by the recitation of a pledge of allegiance to a flag from the deadly January 6th insurrection.

Look -- I was in the Capitol with my fellow Senators on January 6th when violent rioters came inside in an attempt to overturn election results. I can tell you firsthand: to hold that behavior up as something anyone would pledge their allegiance to is dangerous.

Later, Donald Trump called into the event and said that Glenn Youngkin would “do all of the things we want a Governor to do.” We know what he means by that: reverse Democratic accomplishments, spread falsehoods, and turn back the clock on our progress.

What Donald Trump wants a Governor to do is NOT what Virginians want.

This much has never been more clear: We need to do everything we can to elect Terry McAuliffe.
