John, the working class is struggling while the rich keep getting richer.

President Biden’s Build Back Better plan is an opportunity to change that. This all-encompassing legislation aims to invest $3.2 billion into efforts like infrastructure, immigration reform, healthcare, climate action, and other key issues that directly perpetuate socioeconomic inequities by harming low-income folks and people of color at disproportionate rates.

And the best part is that the plan proposes paying for itself by having the rich and big corporations pay their fair share of taxes.

So who is holding up this landmark bill from passing?

Well, it’s not just Republicans, although of course, every one of them has opposed it. Nope, it’s two Democratic Senators — Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema.

With Sinema having received over $750,000 in donations from Big Pharma and Manchin having hundreds of thousands of dollars in coal and fossil fuel stocks, it shouldn’t be a surprise that these corporate politicians are siding with special interests.

We MUST build a Democratic Party that represents our values and prioritizes the best interests and wellbeing of the American people — not the wealthy and powerful. And that starts with electing working-class candidates by breaking the socioeconomic barriers to entry into politics.
