The excitement is growing-- it’s almost here-- the Brooklyn PTA Fun Run for Schools is making a triumphant return to Prospect Park this Saturday 10/23. Bring your kids, neighbors, and friends and help raise money for schools in need!
Please visit the Fun Run registration site ([link removed]) now for details and sign up. The money we are raising for Title I schools comes mostly from participant registration fees-- so the more of you that join us, the more money we will have for these schools. And if you register by 8 PM Friday night you will qualify for our random drawing of amazing prizes courtesy of two of our generous sponsors: six adults will win the chance to get super fit with classes at Row House Williamsburg, and six kids will receive gift cards for a yummy treat at the Chocolate Room. You can register right up until the event on Saturday but to qualify for the drawing you must be registered by 8 PM Friday and you must be present at the run on Saturday where the winners will be announced. If you cannot be there on the 23rd, remember you can still visit the registration site ([link removed]) to make a donation.
Starting at 9 AM on Saturday folks can arrive, pick up their bibs, store their strollers or backpacks in our bag check, and listen to Kids Rock for Kids ([link removed]) perform some amazing tunes. I will say a few words along with other speakers at 9:30 and our prize winners will be announced. The run will start at 10 AM. Feel free to gather in the park early for some pre-run cheer, or go for a slice afterward. There will be a medal for every kid that participates!
The weather forecast right now says 57 degrees and partly cloudy Saturday morning. So bring a warm layer and your favorite school spirit attire-- I can't wait to see you there!
