Friend, July has been a great month for making history in the LGBTQ community. We kicked things off with the US Women’s National Team winning the World Cup, and a national celebration ensued for out LGBTQ superstars like Megan Rapinoe, Ali Krieger, Kelli O’Hara, and more. Then, this week, the TV show Pose made history with six Emmy nominations (including one for star Billy Porter!), a groundbreaking moment for LGBTQ representation on television. During a year that has been so difficult for the LGBTQ community -- the Trump administration has now issued more than 100 attacks against LGBTQ people -- it’s heartening to see our culture continue to move forward. That’s where GLAAD comes in, Friend. We’ve been working for decades to create a culture and a society where all LGBTQ people are entitled to acceptance. Even in the face of the most anti-LGBTQ administration we’ve ever seen, we are fighting, step by step, day by day, for full equality. Nothing less. And, friend, we’re winning.
