BONUS: Night call! Join Seattle DSA members canvassing for Nicole Thomas Kennedy with twist: we're canvassing Capitol Hill on a Friday, October 15 at 7:30 PM(!). Meet at Cal Anderson Park! Put on your dancing shoes and let's talk with people about electing an experienced public defender abolitionist and not an anti-poor, Trump-supporting attorney promising more class violence.

Indigenous Peoples Day

It's Indigenous Peoples Day. Seattle leads the nation in missing and murdered indigenous womxn, Christopher Columbus was a slaver demon, and every regional tribe has been dispossessed of land, resources, and decision-making. Some small concrete steps: Real Rent to the Duwamish Tribe, Signing on to their Petition for Recognition, and learn more at the latest collaboration between the Duwamish Tribe and the Log House Museum. You can also learn more about indigenous revolutionary organizing and actions stopping pipelines on treaty lands here.

Solidarity Budget

Seattle City Council is setting the 2022 budget, and community has put forth a vision of less money for cops and more money for care. We need your voice to make sure they hear us. There's an in-person rally Tuesday, Oct. 12, 5-7pm outside City Hall. That's also when Council will hear remote public comment. Sign up opens at 3:30PM on 10/12, via this website. You’ll then get an email with instructions for how to call in at 5:30PM. Need talking points? Come to the rally, or message the #ecosocialism_c Slack channel.
