** Dear Neighbors,
------------------------------------------------------------
Early voting starts tomorrow! For the first time ever, New Yorkers will be able to vote early in a general election. Early voting takes place at select sites across the city (9 in Manhattan) from Saturday, October 26th to Sunday, November 3rd. To learn more and find your early voting location, click here ([link removed]) .

If you don't vote early, you can of course vote on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5th. This year, voters will select New York City's Public Advocate, as well as Judicial posts and County Committee members.

Voters will also have the opportunity to approve or reject five major changes to the New York City Charter, our city's constitution. If approved by voters, these ballot questions would make changes relating to elections, police oversight, ethics and governance, the City’s budget, and the City’s land use review process.

Click here ([link removed]) to learn more about each of the five ballot questions. Please learn about the questions before you go to vote -- they are very detailed. Changes to the City Charter are not proposed on a regular basis -- don't miss this important opportunity to make your voice heard.

Last Chance to Submit Your Ideas for Participatory Budgeting!
Participatory Budgeting (PB) empowers residents to decide how to spend $1 million to improve our neighborhood.

In order to qualify for the ballot, PB projects must 1.) be physical improvements or equipment (not staff or programming); 2.) be located on City property; and 3.) cost at least $50,000.

Please submit your project idea by November 1st. Click here ([link removed]) to learn more about the PB process, submit a project idea, and see previously funded projects. Want to be a PB community delegate? Email us at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) . (Delegates need to be available for evening meetings in November and December.)

Thank you to all the Upper West Side businesses we visited yesterday as part of our day of action for Go Purple NYC. Businesses throughout District 6 have agreed to help distribute information about domestic violence resources and support. Awareness is the greatest tool we have in combating domestic violence. If you or someone you know is experiencing DV, visit nyc.gov/NYCHOPE, or call 1-800-621-4673 (HOPE), to find out how you can get help.

Bike Helmet Event Tomorrow!
Finally, please join us this Saturday in Riverside Park for a Vision Zero bike helmet fitting and distribution event! We'll be at 72nd and Riverside Drive from 11am to 2:30pm.

As always, don't hesitate to contact my City Hall (212-788-6975) or District (212-873-0282) offices with any questions.
Warmly,
