Hi John,

What a week! I’m writing this from Boston before a book event. We launched my book on Tuesday – thank you to everyone who picked it up! I hope you love it. I’m very proud of it; I think it’s got some big ideas.

Also on Tuesday we launched the Forward Party! The video ([link removed]) has been seen almost a million times across platforms. We’ve raised tens of thousands of dollars from donors like you and over a thousand people have already signed up to volunteer. Thank you!

It is an awesome feeling to give rise to a movement that is trying to both reduce the polarization that so many of us feel is getting worse and also provide a positive, unifying force in American life through real solutions. Someone said to me, “It must be nice when you want to do something that the country badly needs. It’s a union of desire and need.” He’s right.

On Wednesday, I did my first book event in Washington D.C. About 150 people showed up, on top of the 250 people who came to the book signing in New York.
It was my first book talk and it was a blast. How much fun is it to catch up with old friends from the campaign, meet new people, and talk about a vision for how we can make this country of ours work better? I confess, I felt like a stand-up comedian: me, microphone, stage, and audience. And yes, I did crack a joke or four.

On Thursday I did press and then had a book launch party downtown hosted by my friends Scott Galloway and David Rose. A bunch of people came by including Mark Cuban:
Celebrating the effort that went into the book with friends and family was a joy.

Then on Friday it was off to a democracy conference in Austin, Texas. I met with a group of inspiring activists who are working on ballot initiatives and democracy reform measures that could help us come together. I also met Senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, whom I’ve been talking about lately as a role model of independent judgment in the face of partisanship.

Everywhere I went, people were excited about the Forward Party – and I mean random people on the street. “Good for you!” “That’s really awesome.” “We need it.” “That took a lot of guts.”

I hope that you’re excited too. We’ve got a lot of work to do. We’ve got the book! The Party! The Tour – Philly and Chicago this week! The podcast! But most of all, we’ve got a country that badly needs a change.

It’s not left vs. right, it’s the people vs. a system that is trying to turn us against each other.

Let’s make sure the people win.

- Andrew
