Today marks the third anniversary of a shameful day: The day Senate Republicans confirmed Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

His rise to the Supreme Court cemented an anti-choice, anti-freedom majority on the bench. It sent lawmakers hostile to abortion into a frenzied race to undermine reproductive freedom and bring a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade.

And their wish may, at long last, be coming true. The Court will soon hear Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a case that could overturn Roe v. Wade. Ready to fight back?

Since the start of this year, state legislators hostile to reproductive freedom have enacted 106 restrictions on abortion access, making 2021 the worst year for abortion rights since the landmark 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade.

By refusing to block Texas’ SB 8, a blatantly unconstitutional ban on abortion at about six weeks of pregnancy, a majority of the justices — including Kavanaugh — essentially allowed Texas to render Roe v. Wade meaningless in the state, underscoring the dire threat to our reproductive freedom.

Now, more states are following suit through copycat bans. Within 24 hours of the Court’s refusal to block SB 8, lawmakers in Florida, Arkansas, Indiana, Mississippi, North Dakota, and South Dakota announced their plans to pursue similar legislation — and the list keeps growing.

So, what are we going to do about all of the challenges ahead? We’re fighting back — educating, activating, and mobilizing the 8 in 10 Americans who support the legal right to abortion. But we need you with us every step of the way, John.
