Nikkita Oliver delivered a knock-out. The opposition are falling back to the same law-and-order rhetoric without really digging into root causes. We've had sweeps. We can see they harm and don't help. Sweeps and prisons do nothing to provide stability and provide services people need. So, Nikkita is developing policies with people like you. You can help canvass this week or, especially if you have disabilities or care for someone with them, they are holding a disability justice listening post to draft policy with those whose lived expereience matters so much in creating solutions. This election is a showdown between people who know what we need vs the establishment who claims to know better.

Nicole Thomas-Kennedy too. Holy crap. The Republican opposition doesn't even know what the job does and conflated felonies (not a part of the office) with misdemeanors and civil offenses (what the office oversees). They have not been in court for these types of things whereas Nicole Thomas-Kennedy has been a public defender for years. Mass incarceration is not housing. Prison won't cover a misplaced bus ticket.

Abortion Rights Rally

A strong enough mass movement can stay the hand of the right wing who want to overturn Roe v Wade. The October 2nd protest and others that will likely follow in the months ahead can lay the foundation for a mass movement that has more far reaching socialist feminist demands, including Medicare for All, Free and Universal Childcare, and Living Wages and Affordable Housing.
