John,

There is a hidden and deadly cost to much of the Halloween candy on store
shelves: Critically endangered Sumatran tigers are being driven to extinction by a
common ingredient in candy—unsustainable palm oil.

Will you help prevent the extinction of the only surviving subspecies of tigers
in Indonesia?

Scientists estimate that there are only 400 Sumatran tigers left in the wild,
John.

Between 2009 and 2011 alone, palm oil-driven deforestation demolished 15% of
Sumatran tiger habitat. As roads and palm plantations cut deeper and deeper into
the forests of Sumatra, untouched tiger habitat has become easily accessible to
poachers. These beautiful big cats could go extinct in the coming decades unless
we take immediate action to combat poaching and curb habitat destruction.

Right now, it’s almost impossible to verify whether the Halloween candy you’re
buying is made with sustainably sourced palm oil. You can help prevent the
extinction of the Sumatran tiger by demanding sustainable choices.

I WANT SUSTAINABLE CANDY
[[link removed]]

Around the world, more than 50 football fields of forest are cleared for palm
plantations every hour .

Indonesia has one of the highest rates of deforestation in the world—largely due
to the expansion of illegal palm plantations. These illegal operations employ
slash-and-burn agriculture which can lead to wildfires and destruction of
irreplaceable forests.

We need your help to call on companies and regulatory organizations to give
consumers what they want: Halloween candy that doesn’t contribute to
deforestation.

Many snack food brands that produce our beloved Halloween candy have failed to
meet their own goals to eliminate unsustainable palm oil from their supply
chains. Right now, millions of Americans are buying Halloween candy that could contain
unsustainable palm oil. Even candy and other products that have been certified as sustainable may
contain irresponsibly sourced ingredients.

Help us convince companies that saving the Sumatran tiger is good for the planet
and their profits. Demand sustainable candy on Halloween and help end
deforestation.

By showing companies that consumers want sustainable products, we can ensure
that responsible practices become the new standard for all companies. It’s going to take commitment and action from companies, countries, AND
consumers to save the Sumatran tiger and other imperiled species from extinction
due to deforestation.

Stand up for Sumatran tigers. Sign our petition demanding sustainable Halloween candy and put pressure on
candy makers to end deforestation.

Thank you for using your power as a consumer to end deforestation and stand up
for at-risk wildlife like the Sumatran tiger.

With gratitude,
