This summer, you've been working to pass the Transformation to Competitive Employment Act. Thanks to your advocacy, we’ve seen new cosponsors signing on to TCEA throughout the summer and fall, and we’re excited to let you know about more progress in our fight for fair pay. This coming Monday, October 28th, there will be a Congressional briefing on integrated employment, sponsored by members of Congress YOU moved to action. We will build on this momentum with a call-in day on Wednesday, October 30th. Join us so we can get TCEA across the finish line together!

The Monday briefing will run from 10 AM to 11:30 AM EST. This is a great chance for our elected officials to hear directly from our community about the impact of TCEA. You can watch the briefing live here, and follow along with our livetweets! We’ll be using the hashtag #RealWork4RealPay. 

Now is a great time to get ready for the call-in day on Wednesday! We’ve got an excellent team of volunteers ready to help you make calls if you struggle with doing so due to a disability.

Here’s how to join our call-in day to end subminimum wage:

• Join our Facebook event here for updates, scripts and tips on how to contact your elected officials.

• On October 30th, call your elected officials in Congress (or submit a script using our proxy caller system) and let them know you’re asking them to support TCEA. You can use our script:I'm a new Text block ready for your content.

My name is [your full name], and I am from [city]. I’m calling to ask the [Senator/Representative] to support the Transformation to Competitive Employment Act. This bill would make sure that people with disabilities get to work in our communities for fair pay. With the right supports, people with all kinds of disabilities and support needs can succeed in integrated employment, and TCEA would give states and service providers the resources they need to provide those supports.
