Nearly eight months ago, with your help, I launched BACKROADS PAC between an insurrection and an inauguration. What an auspicious beginning that further proves that our mission to hold the House and help Democrats running in rural America has never been more important.

With your generous support, we have:

• Formed a Board of Directors and built partnerships across the country.
• Conducted our first research project in 10 key states on messaging in rural America, and
• Built the infrastructure needed for long-term success.

We’ve also been working with candidates running in these tough, rural seats. As we end this important quarter, I want to share a few of our candidate endorsements with you and hope you will support them as we have.

So far, we have endorsed three incumbents:

Susan Wild, PA-7—In November 2018, Congresswoman Wild was elected as the first woman to represent Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. She is committed to fighting for quality, affordable health care for all, an economy that benefits everyone, and reforming our political system.

Matt Cartwright, PA-8—Matt Cartwright has spent his entire career sticking up for working people, first as a trial attorney and now as the Congressman in Pennsylvania’s Eighth District. He is a fighter for all hardworking northeastern Pennsylvanians, especially when it comes to protecting and expanding access to health care and growing our local economy.

Cindy Axne, IA-3—Cindy Axne is a 5th generation Iowan, a small business owner, parent, and now the U.S. Representative for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District. Cindy fought a tough race in 2018 and remains the sole Democrat in the House in Iowa.

All of these candidates have one very important thing in common. For them, it's country over party, every time.

We have a lot of work to do, but we are passionate, focused, and driven because we know that the path to holding the House runs through rural America!
