The Virginia governor’s race always falls one year after a presidential election. And for decades now, Virginia voters have rebuked the sitting president by electing someone from the opposing party to be their governor.

So, because Joe Biden won last year, history tells us that Glenn Youngkin could be favored to win this year.

But here’s the good news. Virginia has bucked that trend before -- in 2013, when Terry McAuliffe was elected for the first time.
