There is a huge election happening in Virginia in just over a month, John.

This November, Virginia voters will elect their next governor and their choices couldn't be more different. Democrat Terry McAuliffe previously served as governor from 2014 to 2018. Now, he's running again to help the state recover from the pandemic, fight for civil and voting rights, expand access to affordable health care, and create a better future for all Virginians.

Meanwhile, Terry's opponent, Glenn Youngkin, is Trump 2.0. Here's some of what you need to know about Youngkin:

- He is endorsed by Donald Trump, and Mike Pence recently visited the state to host a fundraiser for him,
- Said Trump "represents so much of why I'm running,"
- Pledged to ban schools from teaching critical race theory,
- Repeatedly called for "election integrity," playing into Trump's false claims of voter fraud in the 2020 election.

It's clear: Virginians can't afford a Governor Youngkin. But the latest polling shows this is going to be a tight race until the very end. That's why we're rushing support to Terry McAuliffe to help him defeat Trump 2.0 and move Virginia forward.
