Friends -

We’re emailing to ask for something a little different today, and we hope you’ll keep reading on to let us explain why this request — especially now — is so important.

As you may know, we have an official FEC fundraising deadline coming up in just 5 days. And we have a bit of a problem on our hands.

This month, we’re on pace to reach our contribution goal. But our average donation from each of those contributions has dipped…considerably.

This time last year, it was $24.57. In August? $22.03. And so far this month, just $18.

Now, that difference might not seem like much, but over the course of an entire FEC deadline, it adds up to thousands of dollars — resources we need to continue growing our movement and helping Ed keep up the fight for our bold progressive agenda in the Senate.

So what can we do? There are two options:

1. LOTS more donations from lots and lots of people.
2. Donations made in (even slightly!) higher amounts than usual.

Now, normally when we ask our supporters to make their first online contribution, we ask for $3. But since we’ve fallen off the pace this month, we need to ask you to do something big today:

Can Ed count on you to make a $5 contribution to our campaign? This FEC deadline is a big one, and we would not ask if it were not so important. [[link removed]]

Thank you in advance for chipping in if you’re able to. Any support you can give will send an unmistakable message to our opponents when they read our FEC report next month.
