The UN Climate Change Conference, or COP26, will be held in Glasgow, Scotland
in November. As the event approaches, Mike — who serves as United Nations
Special Envoy for Climate Ambition and Solutions — has kicked off an
international effort across Bloomberg Philanthropies and Bloomberg LP to
turbocharge climate progress.

We call it the Countdown to COP26.
<[link removed]>

We began on September 1, 2021, 60 days before COP26, and have unveiled dozens
of U.S. and global climate actions — with more to come. They include everything
from climate-focused investments and partnerships to capacity-building and
educational efforts, with a focus on Mike's three key priorities as UN special
envoy: accelerating the clean energy transition, elevating local climate
action, and mobilizing climate finance.

Read below to learn more about selected actions from our Countdown, and be

Corporate and Philanthropic Support for COP26
<[link removed]>

As one of the earliest actions in our Countdown, Mike announced a robust
engagement with COP26, including a $10.5 million commitment to the UN from
Bloomberg Philanthropies, and Bloomberg LP's official role as COP26 partner.
"The latest science has made clear that we need to accelerate our efforts in
the global fight against climate change, and this year's climate conference in
Glasgow is a vital opportunity to do just that. We must do more, together, to
curb emissions — and at Bloomberg, we're glad to partner with COP26 and support
the UN's critical work on this issue," said Mike.

Asphalt Art Collaboration with COP26 Host City Glasgow
<[link removed]>

Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Glasgow City Council unveiled a vibrant
public artwork installation at the entrance of Anderston Station. Ahead of
COP26, our Asphalt Art initiative will use the power of art to encourage more
sustainable transportation options and transform public spaces in several
European cities. The Anderston Station installation was inspired by the
environmental challenges Glasgow faces with excessive rain and water runoff,
and the mural is accompanied by benches and an experimental rain garden on the
site.

Asia

Bloomberg Philanthropies and Goldman Sachs have partnered on a $25 million
Climate Innovation Fund to increase the pace, scale, and ambition of climate
solutions in South and Southeast Asia. The initial funding — which has the
potential to unlock up to $500 million in private sector and government
investments — will tackle projects with direct, measurable outcomes in the most
carbon intensive areas of India and Vietnam. Those include clean energy
systems, sustainable transport, energy efficiency, and adaptation activities to
improve the climate resilience of livelihoods and infrastructure.
