Yesterday, Bill Taylor -- graduate of West Point, Vitenam infantry veteran, and top diplomat under 5 presidents, Republican and Democrat, and the chief -- has described a corrupt quid pro quo in damning new testimony that confirms what we know:
That Donald Trump withheld $391 million in Congressionally approved military aid for the Ukraine until President Zelensky agreed to stand in front of a microphone and announce that he was opening an investigation into a US political rival.
That is the definition of a corrupt quid pro quo.
It is also illegal and, yes, impeachable.
The scandal is simply without precedent in history, and at this point, the question for Republicans in the House has been whether they will choose to follow the law or to be part of the cover-up.
From the way that he has been dispatched to media outlets to spout White House talking points, it's clear that Roger Williams is committed to going down with the ship. And he, and the GOP establishment, are using their media allies at Fox News to continue to lie to millions of Americans.
