It’s safe to say our virtual footprints grew over the course of the pandemic. As work and school went remote, meeting in groups became a non-starter, and the real world simply had less to offer, many of us turned to video chatting, streaming a night out, and social media. We’re only just digging out and seeing how that impacts our health and well-being. One thing’s for sure, boundaries were crossed and it’s probably best that we work to get them back — one thirty-minute phone break at a time.

TIPS AND TRICKS

Time Management Tips for Your Facebook Feed, Twitter Posts, and Instagram Uploads

Know Why You’re Using It
Are you constantly checking your phone because you are trying to build business connections? Gather information? Or is it because you don’t feel like cleaning the kitchen or finishing that report? Answer this before you look at your phone again.

Time Yourself
There’s nothing like an old-fashioned countdown clock to force you to use your time more efficiently. Use the alarm on your phone or an app like e.ggtimer.com to set a timer for the number of minutes you’ve allotted to social media.

Schedule Your Posts
To practice mindful use of social media, schedule a time or times of day when you’ll check your various feeds, and establish exactly how long you’ll spend doing it.

Park It

For 30 minutes a day, vow to go device-free. Period.

TOMORROW! SEPTEMBER 21 AT 7PM EST
You’re Invited to: ’Neurodiversity: Learning the Different Way Kids Think”

The term “neurodiversity,” frames brain differences not as something to be cured, but as  something to be embraced as part of human diversity. People who are autistic, have ADHD and  similar brain differences have strengths unique to their atypical ways of perceiving, interacting  with and learning about the world. In this episode of Live.Work.Thrive, Scary Mommy and Fatherly team up to bring a panel of experts to discuss how the different ways children think and perceive the world should be framed as a gift and a strength.
