Check out the latest from NYGOP Volume 31 | September 19th, 2021 This Week at the NYGOP Follow Us On Social Media! ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Dear John, Kathy Hochul has been busy using her first weeks as Governor going all in with the radical left’s dangerous pro-criminal agenda. Standing shoulder-to-shoulder with her “defund the police” lieutenant governor, she just signed legislation that allows convicted criminals who violate their parole to stay out of jail, which will lead to the instant release of thousands of convicted criminals across the state of New York. With one full swoop of the pen, she has made every single New Yorker less safe. Cuomo may be gone, but it doesn’t matter what Democrat occupies the governor’s mansion--if you want to stop these insane policies and restore public safety to New York, we MUST elect a Republican governor in 2022. Democrat hypocrisy was on full display this week at the liberal elitist Met Gala where AOC showed up wearing a “Tax the Rich” dress to the event that cost $35,000 per ticket. The 1% of the 1% paraded around with no masks while the working-class staff were forced to wear them. It was emblematic of Democrats’ entire “do as I say, not as I do” philosophy. From covid, to taxes to climate change, Americans are fed up with Democrats’ virtue signaling and blatant hypocrisy. Also this week, the so-called independent redistricting committee released two versions of new congressional and legislative maps and like everything else under Democrat control in New York, this process is shaping up to be a total political sham. Democrats have no interest in negotiating fair, bipartisan districts--even new Governor Kathy Hochul said she intends to try and wipe out Republican seats to give Biden more votes in Congress for his radical agenda. We are going to use every tool in our arsenal to fight their corrupt power-grab. Every week we are choosing a candidate to highlight who needs your support! Peter Crummey Candidate- Colonie Town Supervisor I have had the great honor of serving the citizens of the Town of Colonie as Town Justice for over 20 years. I served as the Court’s Senior Town Justice and Court Administrator. The Court is often asked to determine guilt, innocence, capacity, credibility, responsibility and obligation. Along with adjudicating matters and settling disputes, in 2010, I initiated, together with the Clerk of the Court, an annual State of the Town of Colonie Justice Court Report which details the challenges facing the Court and includes our recommendations for meeting those challenges. The Report keeps the citizens informed of Court functions and the ever-escalating requirements imposed on the Town's Judiciary. I continue to expand community knowledge of our legal and Court systems by guest lecturing in our local schools, hosting school groups in the Courthouse, presiding over mock trials for the benefit of our junior high school students and interviewing more than 60 judges and attorneys as Host for our Town of Colonie Library "Benchmark" television program. The Colonie Town Justice Court is one of the busiest Courts in the State of New York handling approximately 25,000 cases per year. The Court caseload involves criminal, civil and vehicle and traffic matters. Our criminal caseload, in 2018 alone, placed the Court as the 20th busiest Criminal Court in the State of New York involving fingerprintable offenses. The Town of Colonie is situated at the crossroads of the Capital Region and enjoys a population of approximately 82,000 residents. The Town, with its large retail and business presence, is often referred to as "the downtown of the Capital Region." "She’s been governor less than a month and she’s already made every single New Yorker less safe," said New York Republican Chairman Nick Langworthy. "The only way to stop this insanity is with the election of a Republican governor next year.” Watch Full Here Democrats look to cut half of NY’s GOP House members under gerrymander New York Post New York State Republican Committee Chairman Nick Langworthy immediately vowed to challenge the redistricting plan, saying that Democrats “are going to stonewall and drag this process out hoping New Yorkers aren’t paying attention so partisan legislators can draw their own maps.” “Like everything else under Democrat control in New York, this process is a political sham built on a foundation of lies and hypocrisy,” he said in a prepared statement. “We intend to employ every legal and political tool in our arsenal to stop them and ensure New Yorkers are fairly represented.” Read Full Here Hochul ethics panel pick helps Cuomo keep $5.1M from book New York Post Disgraced ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo can keep the $5.1 million he made selling his memoir about the coronavirus crisis, the state’s ethics agency narrowly decided Tuesday — when a brand-new member appointed by Gov. Kathy Hochul sided with her predecessor. Cuomo scored six votes in his favor from members of the Joint Commission on Public Ethics, including Commissioner Randall Hinrichs, a former Suffolk County district administrative judge who Hochul named to the panel shortly before its meeting in Albany. Other votes for Cuomo came from Commissioner James Dering, a Cuomo appointee who Hochul on Tuesday named JCOPE’s acting chairman, and Commissioner Juanita Newton, who was appointed by Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins (D-Yonkers). The state will lose one of its 27 congressional districts because of its relatively slow population growth. In the most recent census, New York fell just 89 residents short of what was needed to prevent the loss of a seat. State GOP Chairman Nick Langworthy lashed out at Democrats, accusing them of attempting to "drag this process out, hoping New Yorkers aren't paying attention." He blamed Democrats for a process he labeled "a political sham built on a foundation of lies and hypocrisy." Read Full Here AOC slapped with ethics complaint for accepting free Met Gala tickets New York Post A conservative group is asking the Office of Congressional Ethics to launch an investigation of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for accepting free tickets to Monday’s Met Gala, where she wore a custom gown that said “Tax the Rich.” The self-declared socialist congresswoman drew broad social media scorn for partying at the elite, $35,000-per-ticket event while presenting herself as their rabble-rousing foe. Thomas Jones, founder of the American Accountability Foundation, wrote in an ethics complaint that he believes Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), who represents parts of the Bronx and Queens, broke House rules by accepting “an impermissible gift” of free tickets to attend the annual gala, which also was attended by fellow New York Democratic Rep. Carolyn Maloney. Read Full Here Ready to take back our state? Contribute today!
