This week I asked Biden’s Secretary of State tough questions about the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan.
What I can tell you is the Biden Administration lied to the American people.
Biden never should have based the withdrawal on the calendar on the wall, but instead on the conditions on the ground. Now, it’s been over two weeks, and we have an unknown number of U.S. citizens left behind enemy lines. America can no longer say we leave no American behind, because Joe Biden did.
As I said during the hearing to Biden’s Secretary of State, "You nearly dislocated your shoulder patting yourself on the back on the great job you’ve done." Nothing about this withdrawal was successful. It was a complete failure.
Senate Republicans will continue to investigate, get to the bottom of what happened with the botched withdrawal of Afghanistan, and hold people accountable. We won’t stop until every single American is brought home.
