See below, John.

House committees have done their work. We have a strong Build Back Better Act which is by far Congress' biggest ever effort to save our country and the world from climate disaster.

Now we must push this bill to the House floor and through the Senate and to President Biden's desk by the end of the month!

John,

It’s been tough in the last year and a half, but we North Carolinians love traveling the Good Road State from the Outer Banks to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Now President Biden's Build Back Better plan will make it easier for us to explore our beautiful state in electric cars we can charge easily!

It will make it cleaner and less expensive to power our homes, businesses, and cars, so we can invest more money in our families. It will create high-quality, clean energy jobs weatherizing homes, making and installing solar panels, windmills, and electric car chargers, and more.

North Carolina is already the #2 solar power state, and clean energy is one of the fastest-growing industries. But Biden’s plan will supercharge our economy, making clean energy jobs and products accessible to more people...

...if fossil fuel CEOs don't stop it from happening. They're working overtime to water the bill down, John. Urge Congress to Build Back Better for We the People, not the polluters! » [link removed]

It's a landmark $3.5 trillion package to save our planet and our people. By September 15, the U.S. House will finish writing the bill, and we have to make sure it fulfills these crucial elements:

* A clean power standard that will bring us 100% Clean Energy for All by 2035

* Bigger rebates to help lower-income Americans buy electric cars and install an EV charger in their home

* 500,000 public EV charging stations across America by 2030

* Convert school and city buses to electric power, and expand both passenger and freight rail

* Make high-speed broadband accessible to every American

* Build or retrofit 2 million energy-efficient homes, schools, and VA hospitals, saving them money on their power bills

* Replace all lead water pipes across the country to stop poisoning communities of color

* Modernize our grid to keep more lights on when hurricanes and winter storms hit

* Plug abandoned oil and gas wells that are leaking methane into our atmosphere and causing climate change

* Restock our national PPE stockpile and make us better prepared for future pandemics and more resilient to climate change

* Job training and research and development to create the high-tech, clean energy jobs and products of the future

Sounds great, doesn’t it, John? It won’t happen unless you email your senators and your representative right now. Tell them why this is so urgent to you!

How do we pay for this? By making sure corporate polluters pay their fair share in taxes and create jobs and products in America, not overseas.

This is about building a long-term, sustainable climate and economy, and a healthy quality of life, particularly for low-wealth communities and North Carolinians of color, who are most hurt by pollution and the intersecting COVID, economic, and climate crises.

This is our shot to transform our economy and stop the worst climate impacts from devastating our health and quality of life. This is what we elected President Biden and Congress to do. Tell them to make it happen! » [link removed]
