I was raised in California by two incredibly hard working Mexican-immigrant parents and I was the first in my family to graduate from a four-year college.
Growing up, my parents didn’t realize the impact they could have in politics. It wasn’t until I began working in the Senate that I learned how critical the small actions of concerned citizens truly were in grassroots funded campaigns like mine.
