While speaking in Shanksville, Bush drew a connection to the January 6 insurrection at our nation's Capitol:
"We have seen growing evidence that the dangers to our country can come not only across borders, but from violence that gathers within [...] It is our continuing duty to confront them."
Every member of Congress takes the same oath of office, promising to defend the Constitution against "all enemies, foreign and domestic." But the 147 members of the Treason Caucus have time and again refused to take a stand against the attacks on our democracy coming from members of their own party.
Donald Trump, his supporters, and his allies in Congress remain some of the biggest threats to American democracy to this day. As George Bush said, it's our duty to confront them. We don’t agree with George Bush on much but this is why we're working to defeat these dangerous and radical Republicans and replace them with leaders who will defend our democracy, but we need your help.
