Ted Cruz’s famous lack of empathy is on display again:

Look, John — it’s a market failure that Americans re-entering the workforce are forced to make starvation wages, plain and simple. No one should be working full time and still be unable to pay their bills.

If Ted Cruz were serious about Americans getting back to work, he would join me and my Democratic colleagues in supporting a $15 minimum wage.

But let’s be honest — Ted Cruz has never been known for his compassion or commitment to his constituents. Earlier this year, he flew to Cancún during a devastating winter storm that caused mass power outages across Texas and left millions of his constituents in the cold.

I’m not afraid to go up against bullies like Ted Cruz to push for a $15 federal minimum wage. Can you make a contribution to stand with me in favor of a living wage for all working Americans?

I was proud to help pass the American Rescue Plan earlier this year, which extended robust unemployment payments to help Americans who continue to struggle during the pandemic.

I’m alarmed that millions of Americans will be struggling to make ends meet now that these payments have expired — and the fact that Ted Cruz isn’t reflects how little he cares about his role as a public servant.

I’m supporting a $15 minimum wage so that no American has to work full time only to still come up short on funds every month, and I’ll keep fighting to make it happen no matter what people like Ted Cruz have to say.
