Support Section 401 of the Clean Water Act Dear John, The comment period for the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) proposed changes to Section 401 of the Clean Water Act closes tonight at 11:59 PM. Section 401 allows Tribes and States to review and block federal permits to infrastructure projects, such as dams and oil pipelines, that pose a threat to waterways under their jurisdiction. The proposed changes would significantly limit State’s and Tribe’s ability to ensure their resident's access to clean water.
