Friend,
I wanted to come to you this Labor Day to remind you of what we are celebrating.
Today we thank the American worker. It’s a day where we remember that each and every one of us, no matter what job we have, are vital to the success of our nation.
Our workforce is responsible for so many advancements in our jobs’ industry.
From securing the 40-hour workweek, to establishing fair wages and family leave, to promoting workplace safety, our workers have made great strides to allow us the security in our jobs that we have today.
And during this difficult time with the COVID-19 pandemic, we are once again reminded of the sacrifices our laborers make every day to their jobs and to helping us all across the country.
But today is also a day to reflect on where we must go from here, Friend.
Many laborers across the country are still fighting for equal pay for women and minorities, for increased wages due to the rise of costs of living, and so much more.
So on this day, let us remember and thank those who worked so hard to get us the workforce rights that we have now -- and let us stand in solidarity with those who are fighting for even more improvements at this very moment.
Thank you,
TJ
