A holiday weekend is usually a time for relaxation and spending time with your friends and family and enjoying the last days of summer. I hope this email finds you doing exactly that. I would hate nothing more than to bring you bad news and negative energy but I would be doing a disservice to you if I didn't deliver this message and tell you the truth.
We are in trouble, not as a party, but as a country. The laws in Texas that just passed are ones that we've feared most. These laws defy everything that it means to be American by setting us back decades. The same legislation is already in the works to pass in states like FL, MS, AL, and all across the South.
We are going to have a situation where women will have to travel to Democratic states to receive healthcare. I am not trying to anger you, or scare you, but rather, inform you. Because I know you're as angry as I am.
So what do we do?
We fight like hell. I am serious this is it. This one is for all the marbles. We need to start organizing and we need to send a message. I will be on the ground in Texas in the coming weeks meeting and vetting candidates that we want to support.
But that's not all we at No Dem Left Behind are doing. We're currently working around the clock with our sister orgs to coordinate rallies in DC and Texas where we will take to the streets peacefully and loudly and make our voices heard.
We are also having discussions with our friends in DC to make sure we apply pressure to the White House now that we have no other option besides seriously considering SCOTUS reform. Justice Kavanaugh was not properly vetted and can be impeached. We either expand the court or we impeach someone who should have never been selected in the first palace. I know this sounds extreme but believe me, folks, that's what we are up against is just that.
If this is not the type of message you signed up for, I understand if you unsubscribe but in the coming months, this is the level of honesty I will strive for. Those of you that know me, know, that I am a straight shooter, and it's time we are honest with one another.
