Team,

David was proud to cast his vote for the John Lewis Voting Rights Act last week.

The bill strengthens the Voting Rights Act of 1965, significantly weakened by rulings from the Roberts Supreme Court over the past ten years.

In states like Georgia, Arizona, and Texas, Republican-controlled legislatures pass voter suppression bills designed to disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of Black, brown, and lower-income voters.

That’s why passing the John Lewis Act was a priority for Democrats in Congress.

But here’s the deal, team: while every one of David’s Democratic colleagues in the House joined him in voting for the bill, every single Republican opposed it.

Instead of supporting legislation to strengthen one of our most fundamental rights, Republicans chose to side with GOP states doing everything they can to suppress voter rights.

Team , Republicans are counting on winning back Congress next year and passing a right-wing agenda to further chip away at our democratic institutions. Can you donate immediately to help David protect our House Democratic majority? [[link removed]]

While Democrats are passing legislation to help hardworking families in Rhode Island and across the country, Republicans are attacking.

In the U.S. Senate, Republicans are vowing to oppose the John Lewis Voting Rights Act like their colleagues in the House. They have little interest in working across the aisle with Democrats for the American people.

Team , the Republican threat is real. With Donald Trump’s help, they’re putting millions of dollars into their mid-term elections war chest. Our end-of-month fundraising report must show Democrats have the grassroots strength to fight back.

Will you donate right away to help David keep fighting for our House Democratic majority? >>> [[link removed]]

Thanks for all of your support, — Team Cicilline
