Hey John — It's Jesse, Jamaal's Finance Director.
I wanted to take a moment and give you an update on our fundraising for August. At the beginning of the month, our team set out to raise $20,000 in donations from emails just like these — and unfortunately, we came up short.
John, with September well underway, we're working to close the gap on our August fundraising so we can continue to keep up with our campaign plans. And if just one in four people reading this email chips in just $5, we'll be able to close this gap and set our campaign up for success in September. Can I count on you to be one of the supporters to step up and help us get there?
September in particular will be a pivotal time for our campaign, John. Not only will Jamaal be ramping up his progressive legislation efforts, but we'll also be preparing for the end of the Federal Elections Committee fundraising quarter. We can't afford to slow down, and we owe it to Jamaal and our progressive movement to keep up our momentum and this much-needed work.
Reaching our fundraising goals each month is critical to our campaign's ability to accurately plan our efforts and outreach. And even more importantly, our ability to maintain strong fundraising is key to ensuring that Jamaal can stay focused on our collective fight to bring true, long-lasting change to NY-16.
As we move closer to the 2022 elections and Jamaal's first re-election campaign, we're going to need the full support of our progressive grassroots movement behind us. There's still a lot of work left to be done, not just in NY-16, but in communities like ours, all over the country.
