John--

With California’s Special Election less than 2 weeks away, we’ve created a checklist (and a meme 👀) to make sure you are a prepared voter in this important election.

Bad Bunny, labelled “me: a prepared + hydrated voter,” drinking from giant water bottle with labels “registered to vote, got my mail ballot, completed my ballot, signed up for wheresmyballot.com to track my vote, cast ballot by 9/14”

Voter Checklist

1. Am I registered to vote?

All active and registered voters received ballots in the mail. If you have not received yours, you may vote by registering same-day at a vote center, polling place, or county elections office.

2. Is my ballot complete?

There are 2 questions on the ballot. One asks whether or not you want to recall (remove) the governor and the second question asks who you want to replace him with in the event that he is recalled.

👉 Make sure you sign and date the envelope that holds your ballot.

3. How do I cast my ballot?

  • Return your signed and dated ballot at a secure drop box, by mail (postmarked by 9/14), or at an in-person voting location.
  • If you prefer to vote in-person, some polling places start opening this Saturday, Sept. 4. Find locations and hours here. In-person voting locations offer same-day voter registration, replacement ballots, accessible voting machines, and language assistance.
  • The last day of voting is Election Day, which is Tuesday, September 14, and polls close at 8pm.

4. How will I know if my vote is counted?

Sign up for WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov, which will send you a notification for when your ballot is counted.

Voting is just the first step! If you voted already take a second to share election content with your friends and family to make sure their voices are heard.
