This is the sixth in a series of emails highlighting some of our strong Democrats who are running for the Virginia House of Delegates in 2021. I hope you’ll take a look and consider joining me in support of these great candidates.

Friend,

Today, I’m writing to you about three more fantastic candidates running to represent three key districts in the Virginia House of Delegates. These candidates bring a determined focus to delivering on behalf of their communities, so I hope you’ll make a split donation to support them and help keep Virginia blue this November. The first candidate is Delegate Chris Hurst: Chris represents the New River Valley in southwest Virginia. As Delegate, he’s fought to increase school funding and raise teacher salaries. He helped expand Medicaid to bring affordable health care to thousands in his district, expanded broadband to connect his rural community, and he brought Amtrak to Christiansburg.

Chris came to southwest Virginia over a decade ago to become a reporter. When he arrived, he quickly identified with the community’s shared values of strong families, strong faith, and personal integrity. He was struck by tragedy when his long-time girlfriend, Alison Parker was killed by a gunman while on the job in 2015. He then decided to leave journalism and run for office where he’s fought to make gun violence prevention a major priority.

Please chip in whatever you can to support Chris Hurst’s re-election campaign to represent the New River Valley in the 12th District in Virginia’s House of Delegates. [[link removed]]

The next candidate I’d like to highlight is Finale Norton: Finale was born and raised on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, and currently calls Jamesville home. Her mom cleaned homes and her father shucked clams and laid ground cable. When he died, Social Security helped her family get by. In high school, she cleaned clam buckets, graded tomatoes, and waitressed. Thanks to Virginia public schools, she was able to work her way up to becoming an executive responsible for more than 3,500 employees.

Finale is running to represent Norfolk and the Eastern Shore because she believes her community deserves a representative who puts people and working families above profit. She’s committed to fighting for high-speed internet that’s available to students in rural schools, a Chesapeake Bay that is protected, and public utilities that play fair.

Please chip in whatever you can to support Finale Norton’s campaign to represent the Eastern Shore in the 100th District in the Virginia House of Delegates. [[link removed]]

Today’s final candidate is Delegate Roslyn Tyler: Roz has served her hometown of Emporia in the Virginia House of Delegates since 2005. In Richmond, she serves as Chair of the powerful Education Committee where she has fought to allow teachers to be creative in the classroom while promoting academic excellence. She’s committed to supporting early childhood education, pre-k to higher education, expanded career and technical education opportunities, affordability for higher education, and competitive teacher salaries.

Roz was born in Emporia and lives in Jarratt, VA in Sussex County. She attended Virginia State University where she earned an M.S. in Education. She’s been honored with the “Hard Rock Award” from the Virginia Education Association and has served as the Chair of Sussex County Board of Supervisors and on the Board of John Tyler Community College.

Please chip in whatever you can to support Roslyn Tyler’s re-election campaign to represent Sussex County in the 75th District in Virginia’s House of Delegates. [[link removed]]

These leaders have spent their careers in service to the communities they call home. I’m proud to support them. And I hope you’ll join me in helping Virginia’s progress toward strong, thoughtful leadership in the House of Delegates.

Thanks for being a supporter of Democrats across Virginia.
