At an event in the Western Addition last weekend, I walked in to the room and asked, "Is there anyone here who doesn't already have my cell number?"

The answer was a resounding "No."

I've been an advocate for our neighborhoods on the ground for over 25 years. It's how I've come to know so many of you personally. I strive to be as accessible now, as your Supervisor, as I was then, because I'm still that neighborhood advocate you've always known. The one you saw picking up trash on your block, fighting to keep John Muir Elementary open, and working to stop the violence ravaging our streets in the 90s?by creating opportunities for youth.
