August is National Shooting Sports Month, and our shooting sports heritage runs deep in Minnesota!

Today we wanted to send a quick reminder to all of the parents and grandparents of student athletes regarding the upcoming clay target Fall League.

Registration is now open... and closes soon, on September 13th!

Any student is eligible to participate, as long as they are in grades 6 through 12, possess League-approved Firearm Safety Certification, meet all school eligibility requirements, and provided the team has room to accommodate them.

The growth of this sport has been remarkable – and it all started right here in Minnesota.

In the 2007-08 season, there were just three teams with 30 participants. And in the last full season (pre-COVID) in 2019-2020, there were 1,042 teams from 25 states, with nearly 39,000 student athletes participating!

It’s an incredible success story, and it’s so important that we all do our part to help the Clay Target League keep its momentum on track as it returns in full force this year.
