Hello John,
I know we’ve all had a rough week. I’m sure you’re as enraged as I am by the actions of the terrorists, and our hearts ache for the service members and the Afghan people that have lost so much.
What we also struggle with on a daily basis is witnessing so many good, innocent people, in this situation, suffer relentlessly due to no fault of their own. I spent years of my life away from my family living amongst some of these people we now see on TV. They are good people. They treated me well, they taught me a lot, and they always protected me.
What really bothers me is when I see the ways the Republican Party is continuing to capitalize on this tragedy to attack President Biden. With the media egging them on and aiding them as they pile on with sound bites---a question we all need to think on is why? The truth ultimately boils down to greed and profits. The military industrial complex and contractors make a lot of money when our country is at war. Trust me. I’ve seen it first hand. These powerful forces operate in the shadows folks, and they influence our elections by dumping hundreds of millions of dollars behind their favorite GQP puppets right now.
Folks like Marjorie Train Wreck Greene, Lauren Boebert, and Madison Hawthorne -- just to name a few -- continue to accept this money and one has to wonder why all three of those treasonous cowards voted no to welcoming more Afghan refugees.
We have two choices before us: Pack it all in, call it a day and give up OR fight like hell to support our President’s decision to end 20 years of bloodshed and withdraw our troops while giving him a Congress he can work with to pass legislation to better the lives of all!
By now, you know me well enough to know I’ll always pick option 2! I’m a fighter and so are you.
