Dear John,

Happy Black August!

According to The Blk Collective, "Black August as Black August is honored every year to commemorate the fallen freedom fighters of the Black Liberation Movement, to call for the release of political prisoners in the United States, to condemn the oppressive conditions of U.S. prisons, and to emphasize the continued importance of the Black Liberation struggle."

Join us for a conversation with Black Freedom Fighter Jalil Muntaqim for a conversation around Black August and its connection to the current police-free schools' movement. Styled as a Q&A/story-telling experience, we will explore the origins of Black August, the importance of Black political prisoners/freedom fighters, and discuss the ongoing fight for justice and liberation.
