We may be drinking less beer, but we’re spending (and caring!) more

Consumers are drinking less beer but spending more on it and caring more about it, according to a recent Nielsen survey. “Value is outpacing velocity and volume in all categories,” Matthew Drummond, of Nielsen’s beverage alcohol team, said. “It goes to show the premiumization in the whole alcohol segment.”

The second annual week-long event celebrates black-owned hospitality businesses and strives to create pathways to ownership for people of color. "It seemed like a natural fit, beer is for everyone, not just bearded white guys in flannels," said Kevin Blodger, co-founder of Union Craft Brewing, who collaborated on black restaurant week’s official beer.
