The Fiscal Year 2021 budget process is already underway, and the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) hearings are the first step in determining next year's early childhood education budget. These hearings provide us an opportunity to help shape the upcoming budget and ensure that it addresses the vast number of children and families facing great challenges in the state.
Please join us in requesting a $150 million increase to the Early Childhood Block Grant, which will make early childhood services available to more infants, toddlers, and preschoolers and provide more opportunities for intensive, school-day length programs that offer comprehensive support services to children and families. |
The Ounce has also prepared
several resources to help make this process as easy as possible – suggested talking points, sample budget form responses and background on the current state budget.
