John — last week, the Supreme Court blocked New York’s extended eviction moratorium by a margin of 6-3.
Allowing hundreds of thousands of evictions as Delta variant cases surge across the country—and across our state—is an enormously irresponsible decision. But it also underscores the need to expand the Supreme Court to prevent the far-right majority from doing further harm to our country.
That’s why it’s so important that we pass the Judiciary Act, which will restore ideological balance by adding four seats to the Supreme Court. If you agree, add your name here:

This is just the latest in a series of dangerous, partisan decisions by the Court’s hyper-conservative majority.
A month ago, the Court dealt an enormous blow to voting rights in Brnovich v. Democratic National Committee by upholding local regulations in Arizona that make it harder for people of color to vote.
Just like the Brnovich decision, the Supreme Court’s choice to block the eviction moratorium will disproportionately impact our nation’s most vulnerable communities.
If we’re going to prevent the far-right majority from making more decisions that will hurt vulnerable Americans, it’s absolutely critical that we expand the Court.
If you agree, please add your name here to say you support the Judiciary Act, which will add four seats to the Supreme Court and dilute the conservative majority.

In the short-term, Governor Andrew Cuomo must release the billions of dollars in rental assistance—which Congress allocated to our state this year—to renters, in order to prevent a wave of mass evictions.
But let’s be clear: the only way to reverse the Supreme Court majority’s attacks on struggling people is to #ExpandTheCourt.
