Friends,
I am incredibly concerned about the new report issued last week by the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
As a lawmaker, I’ve been fighting for climate action for decades, across all levels of our government. We’ve had some wins, but they’ve been few and far between. Now, the latest reports are revealing the true cost of our inaction. According to the IPCC, it is now too late to stop the acceleration of global warming over the next 30 years.
The U.N. Secretary General has called the IPCC’s report “a code red for humanity” -- and I agree. The science is absolutely clear: we have no time to waste.
Thank you for taking action on this.
