Dear John,
It’s time for all of us to act with solidarity and urgency to finally stop the Line 3 tar sands pipeline.
Line 3 was declared a public health crisis this week, and Enbridge is under investigation for already causing 28 drilling fluid spills at river crossings as they rush to finish pipeline construction by the end of the year.

In Minnesota, the elected officials and state agencies with the power to halt construction and stop Line 3 have failed us. Their inaction violates treaties and exacerbates our climate crisis at a rate equivalent to 50 new coal power plants' worth of greenhouse gases.
President Biden still has the power to stop Line 3, and hundreds of us are coming together next week to let him know that it’s up to him to step in and act for treaties, water, and climate.

We’ll join a group of water protectors led by Indigenous leaders who are walking over 200 miles to hold space and rally for treaty rights, water, and climate. TakeAction climate leader Donna has been on the walk since day 1. Turn out to support her, and all the water protectors making this journey.

Last weekend, climate leader Conor joined the walk, sharing, “I had the honor of following Indigenous leaders and water protectors for one 17-mile day on their journey from the Mississippi Headwaters to the Capitol. I was immediately inspired by the resilience, care, and compassion of everyone I met. They are walking for water and they are walking for every one of us. It’s our turn to listen to their footsteps and help them turn this walk into the world we want for future generations.”
