When America was attacked almost 20 years ago, Americans answered the call. Many were young men and women. They fought and died in places with names they had never heard and few other Americans remember. 

They weren’t serving as Democrats or Republicans. They came as Americans. They fought as Americans. They died as Americans. For us, they answered the call. They are the best of us. We can never honor their sacrifice enough, but each day we must try.
