Run for Something
Hi John,

You've probably seen the headlines surrounding Florida Governor Ron DeSantis's threat to cut the salaries of school officials who enforce mask mandates. This week, I had the chance to speak to someone who's been fighting back -- Broward County School Board member Sarah Leonardi.

Sarah began her journey as a public school teacher who ran for the school board in 2020 after volunteering in a local campaign. She won her race and became the youngest member of the board at the age of 31. And she's been fighting Governor DeSantis head-on since she was first elected.

Sarah's had to deal with everything from the fight over critical race theory to equity policies, protecting trans kids, student safety during a deadly pandemic, and more -- there's nothing she can't handle. Recently, she's been protecting students and staff from DeSantis's reckless anti-masking crusade, and we are 1000% cheering her on!
