Since the beginning, Donald Trump and his allies in Congress have been working overtime to downplay or dismiss the events of January 6. They'll do whatever it takes to escape accountability for the violent attack on our democracy.

With the House investigations underway, Republicans have another chance to try and rewrite history. If they get away with it, it's not a question of whether another event like January 6 happens again. It's a question of when.
