As the summer draws to a close, the eyes of the nation are turning toward Virginia.
Since ours is one of the only states in the country with a statewide election this year, national Republicans are using Virginia as a political battleground. They’re desperate to score a victory to drive a narrative that their party is on the track to success in the 2022 midterm elections.
Predictably, money is pouring into our Commonwealth -- and that’s why you’ve probably seen countless ads on TV and online for the GOP slate of candidates running for statewide office here in Virginia.
Luckily, Virginia Democrats have nominated an excellent slate of candidates of our own who are ready to lead our Commonwealth into the future: Terry McAuliffe is leading our ticket as nominee for Governor; Hala Ayala is our nominee for Lieutenant Governor; and Mark Herring is up for re-election to his third term as Attorney General.
Look, Tim Kaine knows a thing or two about winning statewide as a Democrat in Virginia. And he knows it requires a massive amount of grassroots support. So today we’re asking for you to make your voice heard by adding your name to say you’re ready for a blue wave come November.
The November elections aren’t just about sending a political message to the rest of the country. They’re about building on the progress we’ve made as a Commonwealth in recent years.
Terry McAuliffe was one of the most successful governors in Virginia's history. Now, he's running to ensure Virginia emerges from COVID-19 stronger than ever -- and he’s promised to remove weapons of war from our streets while making historic investments in our schools.
Hala Ayala led the fight to expand Medicaid to 400,000 Virginians, raised teacher pay, and expanded background checks on gun sales.
Mark Herring has been a leader on criminal justice reform, fighting for accountability in policing, cash bail reform, and the decriminalization of cannabis.
The Republican ticket has opposed all of these accomplishments. And if Glenn Youngkin becomes our next Governor, he’ll reverse everything we’ve fought so hard to achieve in the last few years.
