THANK YOU for taking action for Paid Leave!

Dear Friend,

In no small part thanks to YOU raising your voice, signing petitions,
speaking out… this week the U.S. Senate took a big step closer to the
finish line of finally winning paid family and medical leave for all when
they released their budget resolution that includes funding for paid
leave.

YES!!!

[ [link removed] ]→ We cannot take our foot off the gas! Momentum is on our side now.
Click here to add your name to our letter urging Congress to move quickly
to pass paid leave for all.

This is critical. With COVID cases surging across the country just as we
try to go back to school and with offices reopening, the time has never
been more urgent to make sure we have paid leave for all.

It’s thanks to MomsRising members like YOU that we are closer to winning
this policy than we’ve ever been before. For years, moms and families like
yours have been demanding that Congress enact policies that support and
invest in the care infrastructure – childcare and early education, paid
leave and home and community based services. Thank you!

[ [link removed] ]→ We could finally get it done this year, but only if we keep the
pressure on Congress. Add your name to our letter now urging Congress to
pass paid leave for all.

A lack of paid leave policies harms our economy, businesses, and families,
especially our Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) whose access
to programs like paid family and medical leave is lower. [1]  The ability
to take time off to bond with a new child, to recover from childbirth, or
to care for yourself or a family member when an unexpected health crisis
arises is out of reach for many communities of color. Policies like paid
family and medical leave would go a long way towards ensuring justice and
equity in our systems of care, [2] increase economic productivity, improve
a family's financial security as well as promote gender equity in both the
home and the workforce. [ [link removed] ]

The pandemic is far from over, and as the Delta variant spreads, families
must make tough decisions regarding in-person learning and going back to
the workplace while trying to simultaneously keep their families
safe. [ [link removed] ]  Congress can help make the choice easier for our families by
passing a national paid family and medical leave program this year.

[3]Tell Congress that NOW is the time for action. We need paid family and
medical leave to pass this year.

You and I both know how important it is to have time off to care for
ourselves and our loved ones, and we need to make sure our members of
Congress know as well! Everyday families are doing the best they can,
especially our moms and moms of color who are facing increased economic
instability. Only four in five working people have paid leave through
their employers, that’s alarming. It means if working people fall ill or
need time off when a health emergency arises, they are guaranteed ZERO
weeks of paid leave.

[4]This must change and it can change with your continued support. The
good news is that we are closer than we’ve ever been to passing a robust,
comprehensive paid leave program but our work is not yet done. We need to
put even more pressure on our members of Congress while they consider the
reconciliation bill that includes paid family and medical leave, child
care and home and community based services.

[ [link removed] ]Demand that your members of Congress invest in families, businesses and
the economy by passing paid family and medical leave for all.

We’ve been working for generations to obtain paid family and medical leave
for moms like you and families like yours. This is our moment. Together,
we can win paid leave for all.

Thank you!
