John,

On Monday, the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released its sobering report that climate change is even worse than we previously thought. According to the IPCC, we could now cross the 1.5ºC point-of-no-return temperature increase as early as 2030, less than ten years from now.

The climate crisis is here now -- and, for the sake of our children and our grandchildren, we simply cannot afford to ignore it. The fact is, we still have time to mitigate the impacts of the climate crisis, and we currently possess the technology to help us do so, but we must take dramatic action now. That action starts with setting climate policy and electing leaders who will address the climate crisis head-on.

We're facing off against hundreds of extremist conservatives who are fighting tooth and nail to maintain the status quo for the oil and gas industry and choose to believe wild conspiracy theories over the verified data of climate experts. That's why, at the Center for Freethought Equality, we're investing in candidates who listen to the science, follow the advice of experts, and will fight every day to mitigate the climate crisis before it's too late.

Thank you. You must have hope. While the road ahead may be difficult, there is still time for us to take action to mitigate and reverse the damage of the climate crisis. We're honored to have you with us in this fight.
