Dear Friend,

We need your help to redesignate Nepal for Temporary Protection Status (TPS)!

In addition to our legislative fight for permanent residency, Adhikaar is currently leading a campaign for TPS redesignation for Nepal. Winning redesignation would mean that we could win essential TPS protections for almost 40,000 Nepalis who have arrived to the U.S. after 2015 and extend status for the existing 10,000 Nepali TPS holders.

This has been an intensive campaign for the past few months and we are getting closer to the finish line. We will be meeting with DHS and the State Department on Nepal TPS redesignation soon, and we need your help to show them that our community cares.

Here are four ways you can help!

  1. As an individual, you can sign and share this petition urging the DHS Secretary Mayorkas to redesignate Nepal for TPS.
  2. If you are a part of an organization, ensure they and other organizations sign-on as an organization that is supporting Adhikaar’s TPS redesignation efforts.
  3. Have contacts with your member of Congress? Contact [email protected] to help us get more members of Congress to sign on to a congressional support “Dear Colleagues” Letter. Deadline for this is end of the day Wednesday, August 11.
  4. Use this social media toolkit to promote the campaign’s public call to action online through your own networks.

Tune in later this week on our Facebook page for a video update on our TPS campaign -  what’s happening in Congress for permanent residency, the lawsuit (upcoming Oct 4 deadline), and the more on our Nepal TPS redesignation campaign.

In solidarity,

Pabitra Khati Benjamin,

Executive Director, Adhikaar
