Allen West for Governor

Dear Friend,

This may come as a shock, but each Texan is on the hook for $11,300 in tax debt. Let me tell you, I am upset and I bet you are too.

This is how the status-quo has jeopardized the future of our great state and what we can do about it.

Recently Sheila Weinberg, founder and CEO of Truth in Accounting (TIA), crunched the real numbers.

Our state is nearly $100 Billion dollars in debt.

It appears that our true fiscal/debt situation in Texas does NOT account for “unfunded liabilities”.

These unfunded liabilities are, in fact, important items like pensions and retiree health care benefits.

Weinberg found out that Texas officials aren’t putting aside enough money to keep promises they’ve made.

“[The calculation] only includes the money that comes in versus the money that goes out,” Weinberg explained. “If they had to truly balance the budget … include all the actual cost? Then they would have had to raise taxes or they would have had to cut spending, and these people might not get re-elected.”

This is not a new problem.

Essential truth is being kept from everyday citizens in order to protect many of those in power.

Not even Senate Bill 321 will stem the tide of fiscal irresponsibility. It will only let politicians to “double dip”, and even allows state legislators to start receiving benefits while in office.

It may seem that between our budget, our border, and bad leadership, that Texas is headed for disaster.

Just a few days ago I rode along with Del Rio residents and saw border fencing materials on the ground, with weeds growing through them.

We paid for these materials. Bad leadership is allowing them to rust away while over 900 possible criminals and human traffickers are captured and released in that area PER DAY.

Issues like this are not only affecting people near the border, but all Texans who dutifully put their hard earned money in the hands of those not properly managing it.

Fellow Texans have abandoned their homes and American Dreams.

That’s not going to happen in Texas if I become governor.

The status-quo has failed you, the border, or our budget. Let’s change things in Austin and around the state.

I would be honored for you to consider chipping in $50, $100 or $250 today!

For those who have already joined this fight for both Texas and our nation— Thank you.

Steadfast and Loyal,

Lt. Col. Allen West (Ret.)
