Dear John,

Donald Trump was the most competent in crafting catchy slogans to
make up for his lack of quality policy. However, one slogan has
surprisingly started a hurricane of destructive policy and
violence since he first said it.

This slogan is “stop the steal”.

What was once a phrase uttered countless times by the Trump team
in the hopes of excusing a humiliating defeat, has now led to
hundreds of legislative bills to suppress votes from people of
color, low income communities as well as urban voters,
nationwide.

Now, Republicans are using a range of tactics and tools to target
and reduce the number of votes cast by these folks.

* In Wisconsin, the GQP has dedicated itself to limiting early
voting and has seen demonstrable success with the backing of
Republican-appointed federal appellate judges.
* In Florida, courts are backing GQP efforts to withhold votes
from thousands of felons, most of them being people of color.
* Republicans in Texas have taken crucial steps to limit vote by
mail ballots --thus forcing at-risk citizens to stand in line and
risk exposure to the COVID virus.

So I ask you now for help. Because we need you. It is only with
your help that we can push back against this division and hatred
that Republicans are sowing across this nation. I implore you to
get involved and join us in this fight for freedom and democracy.

Republicans have decided to erode the fundamental values of our
republic simply because their values and policies have
wholeheartedly been rejected by the American people. They have
decided to choose their voters instead of the other way around.

We cannot let this assault on our democracy continue. This is why
it is crucial, now more than ever, to continue to elect Democrats
to ensure the continuation of our constitutional republic. Can
